Trotwood-Madison senior Hugh Malone took everything in at the state wrestling tournament last season. He was one of thousands at the Jerome Schottenstein Center at Ohio State University.
"Going to state last year really pushed me," Malone said. "Seeing the mentality, watching coach (Lenard Jackson) and seeing people still wrestling ... just seeing where you can be if you push yourself."
The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder dedicated himself to making state. "I watched coach last year and I wanted so bad for him to not just sit in the stands, but to go and coach, and for me to wrestle there," said Malone. "My freshman year, my goal was to go to the state tournament and win it. Now, I got a chance to do this."
