Trotwood beat previously undefeated and No. 2 state-ranked Cincinnati Turpin 43-7 on Friday, in a Division II, Region 8 semifinal at Princeton High School. Mayor Darreyl Davis, chided by a state Office of Inspector General report, faxed a letter of resignation Monday, Feb. 22, saying his action was “in the best interests of the city.” 
“We are excited to name Wink Martindale our defensive coordinator,” Head Coach Josh McDaniels said. “Wink is the perfect fit to lead our defense after earning the respect of our players and coaching staff for the job he did this past year working with our linebackers.

Trotwood had trouble containing Winton Woods quarterback Dominique Brown and running back Jeremiah Goins, who combined for 288 yards and four touchdowns, and the Rams lost the Division II, Region 8 final 28-7 on Friday night.
